November 2014/Least Favorite Tonner

It's getting cold in Japan even though I feel this winter is not that cold yet. Well maybe YET! hehe
I tried to upload new posts in this month but I was not that much keen to write because I had to write a thesis which is a pretty much big deal to me. When I wasn't working on my paper, I just wanted to be super lazy without thinking literally anything :P

To be honest, while I was stressing out because of my thesis, I did some shopping... I experienced online clothes shopping which I really wanna share.
Anyway this month was really quiet for me at the same time it was tough for me.

At the beginning of November, I run out of my favorite tonner so I had to use something else. I tried this Biore うるおい密着ジェル化粧水 by KAO.

Soon after using that, my skin went totally wrong. My friends often asked me 'Aya are you tired? You skin does not look good'
When I went to Poreless Labo, the staff also worried about my skin and advised me to check what's inside. Surprisingly, that contains ethanol next to water. So basically I applied alcohol on my face.....
Since Kao is such a big cosmetic company in Japan, I just couldn't believe that their products are actually not good for my skin.... Well at least to MY skin.
I suggest to check what's inside every time when you do cosmetic shopping!

Mac Haul

Came back to JP. Another super busy days have started! I still have to upload posts about my Australia trip. Well it seems taking a long long time! Anyway, I'll be away home again within a week. I've got to organise a lot of things but stupid me have a lot of work shifts somehow. Lol (I thought since I need a tons of money for my trips and at the same time, I won't be able to work for a long time, I have to work as much as possible.)
I think when you're busy and don't have enough time to be relaxed, you tend to go shopping a lot. Well maybe not the case for you but it happens a lot to me. I just spend so much money when I'm in Japan.... Japan is really scary country! All you can do is shopping! Haha
So busy Aya chan was again beaten by Japanese monster and I knocked a door of MAC.

The other day, in the morning, when I was about to apply bronzer with a blush, I noticed my favourite blush is missing.
I've been thinking to buy new makeup blushes these days since I don't have proper good ones.
So it was a great timing to buy new blushes! When I walked along cosmetic shops in a department store, I noticed MAC did limited blush sets. Great timing ever!

Moreover, I've been interested in buying a pallet. It makes me think a bit professional at makeups. I want to buy NARS pallets but they are not currently available in Japan. I was thinking to buy some pallet when I got to the UK this summer, but Aya chan luckily or not luckily found this gorgeous pallet!

They have a brown based one but I thought it might be a good chance to try new colour!
A staff taught me how to use these blushes and this pallet very well. My memory is not good enough to remember all of them but it's nice to know professional way.
When she demonstrated, she used this eye colour base to keep eye colour longer.
It's matt. I personally like cream base eye colour and it might help me not to have crumble eye lines.

This morning I used the eye colour base on my swallow eyes hoping it would help me not to have terrible eye lines later on. Well even now my lines are almost perfect. I often got eye liners below my eyes but it didn't happen today! Yes!
I'm really happy with this shopping! I might need a bit more practise but looking forward to use them fluently!!

Foundation Review, My Conclusion/

I used to use my hands or MAC brush to apply foundation but both ways didn't work well. I thought my foundations were all bad. However I met this brush! It helps me to apply whatever foundation naturally.

When I bought a brush set, I also got a bottle of brush cleaner. I used it to clean the brush. However, I kinda feel it doesn't help to keep my brush last longer. Maybe that's because I use the brush for sun cream as well and I don't think I really shouldn't have.
But anyway I feel a bit worried to use the cleaner again for my brush..... Whereas the brush is getting dirty and dirty......

On my previous post about MACCHIAlb; clear esthe veil foundation, I wrote I was very happy about it.
Well I have to deny what I wrote.... Sorry.....
The reason is that when you wear it for a long time, you get itchy on your face. I thought it might have been just because of my face condition so I tried a couple of times. It turns out I get itchy every time I wear this foundation unfortunately.....
I really hope you understand it takes time to understand what products are good or not.....

After concluding the foundation is not good, I restart using Ohtaka kouso's foundation. Well if you read my previous post about face cream and toner, you can tell how much I trust Ohtaka koso. Of course I used their foundation for the first time when I started to using the foundation itself. However, I didn't like it cause I thought their foundation makes my face like too much makeup on face. Also to be honest, I wanted to use the makeup brands cosmetics.... Even though I don't think foreign capital companies cosmetics are for Japanese people's skin. Well you know this is actually what consumers are thinking. Soooo many illogical feelings
After trying something, here I come! I'm back at using Ohtaka koso. According to my mum, if I use their sun cream on my face, their foundation and power go very well with each other. Well since my mum doesn't wear a lot of makeups (she only uses foundation and lipsticks!!) I normally don't ask her about cosmetics. But this time after getting her answer, I was like 'oh a saying that elder people know better than young people since the former has lived much longer'
Today I wore Takaoka's foundation since 5 o'clock in the morning, I don't feel any itches at all. Well I do but that's because of bloody mosquitoes.

Yeah so this is my result. Ohtaka's foundation is the best for me.
The thing is it might be not easy for you to get one since they don't have shops. They sell products at a Hokkaido theme event held by  big department store like there times a year. My mum orders a good amount of products estimated to be needed till the next event and gets delivers. OR you can get them from their online shop.

Nail sticker/

Yesterday when I was literally a zombie, somehow I decided to try this nail sticker  by Sho-Bi.

The other day, I had this kind of nail sticker's demonstration and I just love it!

The brand(Incoco)'s stickers were a bit expensive so my friend and I decided to look for cheaper ones from different companies. There is a shop called LOFT in JP. I don't know how to describe this shop.... It's like a mixture of Wilkinson and Boots. Maybe? Haha
Yeah and I found the Disney printed nail stickers. There is Rapunzel one!!

However, I currently work at a restaurant. Normally workers there are not allowed to have their nails painted? done? In JP, my nails have to be natural all the time.
When I was in the UK, I didn't have such a crazy rule to follow. I could enjoy nail colours but at first I was not into it. I'm a natural seeking type of girl rather than a super cosmetic girl. Anyway one day I visited my friend's flat and get my nails done. After that I kinda started to make my nail colour collection. Here is the result.

Actually I stopped having nail colour after I started cook for my friends. I felt there was a possibility that nail colour get inside food.

Ok so to sum up, it's been after ages to get my nails coloured!Guess where I went with this nail! hehe

This sticker is really handy and easy to apply. Basically all you have to do is that you choose a good sized sticker and apply it on your nail.

To be honest, the quality of this nail colour is not good comparing to Incoco one. This one is basically a small sticker but Incoco one is more like varnish. Actually a staff said they are made from varnish.
I ordered Vlli Vlli ones so I'll let you know about them.
Basically this Sho-Bi one is a sticker. I just don't feel this is particularly for nails. But I have to say that characters are so cute hehe

Shopping in Japan/Summer essentials updated!

A thought came up to me when I was shopping today. It's a bit different between shopping in Japan and the UK or US.
I don't have a confident to say this so please take it as a personal thought.
Today I realised at some point that I didn't see sunshine when I was shopping since I was in a building all time.
There are many department store (ish) buildings in JP. Most of the shops are inside so you don't have to go outside.
However, my typical idea of shopping in the UK is at Oxford street. You walk alongside of shops.
I think it might be just because Japan doesn't have a lot of land. You know even houses are unbelievably tiny.
What I wanna say here is that Japanese buildings are bit strange and unhealthy because you don't feel and see sunshine. You don't have any access to outside.
To be honest, I've started to concern about this a lot even at home. My dad likes to rely on aircon and shut windows when it's hot. I often say 'that's not green! There is still some nice breeds out there' I do feel and know how crazily hot nowadays but still we should try to live with natural weather.
I took some pics hoping to be able to share how shops especially for clothes are like. I do know my photo skill is terrible....

These days I often visit drugstores to have a look at foundations. Again sorry for my poor photo but this is how drugstores look like. This makes me miss Boots more..... I don't know why but JP drugstores are super messy.
Sooo many letters saying how reasonable and discounted they are.

Anyway I've found what I needed!
Spray sun cream!!!!

If you read my previous post, I wanted to buy something similar with the Nivea sun cream I bought in the UK.
I have no clue which one is better but it was like 2 for around ¥1000 so bought two.

Sun cream comes out like mist. I'm not sure whether I actually apply it or not, but I trust the maker and try to use them. Haha

Summer essentials/sun glasses, sun cream

Depressing hot hot hot Japanese summer has come!Even though it's May, the maximum temperature is almost 30 degree. This is crazy.....Guess it's beautiful in the UK :( I wanna go back.....Anyway now summer has come. I just can't live without these.Sun cream!

This NIVEA's invisible protection transparent spray is really goodI bought this last year in the UK. I don't like how you feel after you apply normal sun cream. Sticky. However, this is a spray type so you won't feel sticky AND you don't have to make you hands dirty with sun cream. Also this spray smells nice. Personally I like it but I can't explain what it's like. I just wanna mention that it has a smell. I just don't wanna get sun tun so I chose 50. They've got about 4 different levels. You can choose whatever you like. When I took this photo, I checked how much inside. It's less than half... Omg I need to find a similar one with this here.It might be famous that Japanese people don't like to get sun tun. They want to keep their skin lighter. It's surprising on a street, there are so many people with umbrellas even though it's not raining. HahaPersonally I don't like to get sun tun but I don't put that much effort to avoid it.I just wear sun cream and these cute sunglasses.

The main feature of these sun glasses is that they are foldable. You can carry them inside the small black box in this pic. So handy!Actually this pair is my second one. My first one was stolen in Malaysia. If you read my previous post about my wallet, yeah they were stolen at the same time.I thought it might be a good timing to buy and try new type of sun glasses, but they are so handy. I decided to buy the same one again and I'm really happy about these :)
It's been after four years for me to spend Summer in Japan since I was away previous summers. To be honest, this is not an exciting news for me because I don't like JP damn summer. However, there are many summer events in Japan. I'll try to enjoy them.

To people suffering blackheads

I've been troubled by blackheads for a long time. I tried peeling gel long long time ago. I guess at that time I did too much and my pores got hurt. Since then I just didn't do anything special for my blackheads apart from facial mask and normal face wash. It seems as if there is nothing I could do with them unless I go to a special salon.

Sooooo I went to this salon 'PORELESS LABO' literally sounds like something related with pores. They do treatments including one with ultrasonic sound wave. They wash your face with what so called 'Matera Powder' which basically made from a igneous rock in Ehime prefecture.

I really like this Matera powder. I bought that and makeup remover which is oil free :)

Actually I wanted to buy face wash as well but there are many Hela Luno ones which I bought before tax increased. Staffs told me I can mix this powder with any face wash and makeup remover.

By the way, I use this face wash :)
Staffs told me pores are also excretion organs (organs??? I'm not sure how I should put this....) so that we have to clean them every single day. Yeah I do but I mean more carefully!
I'm gonna stick to this salon and its products especially Matera powder in order to clean my blackheads!!

MACCHIAlb; clear esthe veil/MAYBELINE NY PURE.BB MINERAL BB CREAM

I have to say that I'm on my way to discover the best foundation. There are sooooo many foundations in this world. I've been feeling totally lost what I should use. I think it is common for Japanese people to say that foreign company's foundations are not for us. They are too strong for Japanese skin. However, still well-known brands' are still famous. Well so I'm just doing my research on foundations. I kinda feel that it's reasonable to say Japanese people should use Japanese brands products. That is because we cannot deny that skin types vary depends on where you are from and what diet do you normally have. I simply think Japanese skin type is rather sensible, so if your skin is sensible and if you are having difficult time to find a good foundation for you, I might be able to help you! (Many products will be sold only in japan though....)

MACCHIAlb; clear esthe veil

I've just started to use this one. This spread very well!!!! It seems like for above 30 years old people and very good for anti-aging..... Yeah I thought it might be a bit too early for me to use but it must be very good for my skin.

Before use MACCHIAlb; clear esthe veil, I used this MAYBELINE NY PURE.BB MINERAL BB CREAM(I'm not sure whether I should type them in caps or not...)
This one was nice but comparing to the foundation above, it didn't spread as good as the foundation. To be honest, I'm not sure what BB cream means, but I just simply thought BB cream is not that bad.

In Japan, it's getting hot hot summer. In summer, you cannot live without sun cream. I use this sun cream for my face. This is from Ohtaka Koso which sells products with enzyme. I just love this company so much so I believe this won't damage my face.

My research of foundations is still going on! ;)

laura mercier, vanille gourmande

I bought this perfume last year obviously at LIBERTY in London and I love this!
laura mercier, vanille gourmande

Last year I discover the fact that I love vanilla smell. Before that, I went for very fruity scent feeling that was not really for me. Now I know what I really like :)
After I started using this, many people told me 'Oh! you smell really nice!'
If you like, very sweet scent, check this out! X

MAC, Powder Blush, Modern Mandarin

This is my favorite blusher!!
MAC, Powder Blush, Modern Mandarin
This makes your face healthier and bright. When I don't wanna wear too much makeups, I just use powder foundation and this blusher. They make your face very natural :)
Personally I think there are tons of pink based blushers but not so many orange blushers. From he surface, some might be seen as orange based colors but if you wear it, it actually doesn't appear orange.... However, you can see orange color with this blusher. If you look for some orange color based blusher, I do recommend you this! X

CHANEL, ROUGE ALLURE 89

My friend gave this cutie lipstick last year :)
CHANEL, ROUGE ALLURE 89
When I saw her wearing this lipstick, I fallen love with this. At that time, I was in the U.S. and U.K.. I visited many CHANEL shops to buy one. However, it seems like this one is Japan limited!! It's very surprising that CHANEL has something like Japan limited. My friend bought this in Japan and sent it to me in Bristol as my birthday present. I do remember the time I got the present, I took a photo, but seems like I deleted before I put it into my laptop! I'm such an idiot!!!!!
In the top photo, I'm wearing only this CHANEL lipstick.
In the second one, I'm wearing the lipstick and NARS, LIP GLOSS N 1671In the bottom one, I'm wearing NARS, Lipliner Pencil 9003 (If you read my previous post)
These might give you more exact image of the lipstick colors! X

APIVITA Lip Care

I'm a person who can't live without a lip balm. Seriously I put a lip balm inside every pocket and bag. My favorite lip balm is APIVITA's one

(from the left)
Lip Care with Pomegranate
Lip Care with Black Currant
Lip Care with Pink Rose

These three are slightly colored lip balms. I like them because they make my lip look healthy.
If you don't like colored lips, don't worry, they have normal lip balms!
I've tried sooooo many lip balms. Some contain carcinogen called something like BTP(?)
These are made from organic things and the texture is just right, not too soft or hard
I used the black currant one before. It smelled really good. Now I use the Pomegranate one :)
These are all highly recommended!!!!

Santa Maria Novella

How many of you have you ever heard of 'Santa Maria Novella'? It's the oldest pharmacy run by Dominican order originated in Florence.
I still remember the time when I went there in Florence.
Italy is my first European country I've ever been to. It was a kinda random choice because my friend and I just chose Italy without any specific reason at that time. Actually we planed to go to Egypt at that time but the country's situation was not quite good so we're not allowed to go there by Japanese government. We were desperate to book another trip instead of Egypt but we kinda run out of time. We had to change our plan just before 3 weeks for our departure day.
So anyway when we happen to visit Santa Maria Novella, we were really excited! The building was just beautiful and I felt some sort of loftiness because it's effected by Christianity. I was scared to take a photo inside the building somehow haha
Even though I felt I was out of the place, I really wanted to buy some of its products. My friend and I plucked up courage and bought these.

CUORE ORO PICOLLO (right)
SACCHETTO SALVA FRESCHEZZA (left:potpurri)

It's been almost three year since I met Santa Maria Novella. It seems like we can get its product outside of Italy.

I found this shop in London. The other day I discovered that there is a shop in Japan as well!
This is nice but at the same time I felt a bit weird. Personally buying Santa Maria Novella's products in Italy not in the U.K. or Japan gives them more value.....

Anyway many years after my trip to Italy, one day I got a package from my Italian friends. Guess what they gave me!!!

ACQUA DI ROSE

SAPONE VELLUTINA

I was really surprised and at the same super happy!!!!! Santa Maria Novella always reminds me of my first time in Europe. Moreover, this time it gave me another wonderful memory!!
They are really special to me so I just cannot use them..... ahahaha
Since Santa Maria's products are made from real good herbs, they smell just awesome.
I'm thinking to buy perfume if I have an opportunity to go to Italy again :) X

My first NARS haul

The other day I did a proper cosmetic shopping at a NARS shop for my first time in my life!!!
Thinking back about my cosmetic life, I started to wear makeup when I was 15. Since my mom is not a cosmetic woman, I had no clue how I should wear makeups. Back at that time, gradually my friends started to wear makeups and then I imitated them. There are soooo many information about makeups in magazines and on the internet. I did look at them but I was not that much into it. I really liked to get makeups by someone. haha
There is a limit for a high school girl to buy cosmetics. I bought relatively cheap stuffs. Since I was really busy to study most of time in a high school, I seldom wore makeup. After I entered my uni, the situation didn't changed dramatically maybe because my uni is for women. These means I have a lot of cheap cosmetics which I bought a long time ago. I know I shouldn't use them but I just can't throw them away. I kida feel I out to use them up. Even though occasionally i bought some cosmetics, I haven't done like going to a proper shop and listening to cosmetics information just for buying beauty stuffs. Normally I bought them at a duty free shop in an airport. So it was really exciting moment for me to sit down a chair inside a bright shop and got some demonstration by a stuff.

The main reason why I went to a NARS shop this is that to get a dark, matte, red lipstick and a bronzer. To be honest, I didn't know an existence of a bronzer before I started to watch Zoella's vlog. For an Asian, my skin is a bit pale. Right after I put foundation on my face, I look like a sick girl. I thought it might be a good idea of using a bronzer to be more healthy looking.
I have few red lipsticks but recently I've been feeling that they don't suit me.... Again while I was watching Zoella's videos, I really wanted to get a very dark, matte one like she often uses. The main problem is that some products she uses are not sold in Japan... :( I showed a pic of what I liked the most to a stuff and he pick one for me!

NARS, Pure Matte Lipstick 3504

NARS, CONTOUR BLUSH 5181

NARS, Lipliner Pencil 9003

I was a bit concern about a lipliner pencil.... I just simply worried if I licked it, it would give me some bad effect on my body because I just couldn't accept to lick anything from a pencil.....
However, he draw a beautiful lip line with it for me. I kinda felt as if I was persuaded by him that this lip liner is really good. haha The thing is I have to practice to use this amazing product properly.

NARS, LIP GLOSS N 1671

He gave me this free sample of their new lip grosses.
Before he put a bronzer on me, he used this powder to make my skin smooth.
NARS, Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder
This powder actually made my skin smooth and bright. Even though I was really tempted to get it, I decided to think about this again. You know just to share this information with you :)

So this is my first NARS shopping haul!
I'm really excited to use them and become pretty me! hahahaha X

NARS, Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder

BI-FACIL

I'm not a super duper cosmetic beauty girl to be honest. But I do have interests on them. What I believe most about cosmetics is that 'be natural'! Personally I think daily basis skin care is more important than putting a lot of make-up stuffs on my face.
Don't misunderstand me! I do like to wear makeups but what I want to tell you now is that we should remove all before going to bed everyday!
So far it was really difficult to meet a good makeup remover. Every time I just couldn't remove my eye makeup even after washing my face....
But tadaaaaa!!!!
Here we go! I've met this amazing makeup remover!

LANCOME BI-FACIL point makeup remover

You've go to shake it before use.

This is what it looks like after you shake it.

Unfortunately, this is only sold in Japan.... But again this is really good!!!!
This remover specialized in point makeups. I haven't met a good remover for whole my face. If you have your recommendation, I'd love to know! X
